Petz Park

Welcome to Petz Park, a webring themed around the P.F. Magic Petz game. Each day, a new pet will visit your corner of the park, and in turn, your pet will wander over to other people's sites. You are also welcome to post the widget on your page without submitting a pet, to add a little taste of 90s era virtual petz to your page.

Submission Info

To send a pet to play at the park, simply pop into skissors' project discord and submit the below info to the Petz Park submission channel. Or, if you're code-inclined, you can also make a pull request on the Petz Park github page.

your name:
your pet's name:
your site's name:
your site's url:
and 2 transparent, looping gif of your pet:
- one of your pet just hanging out
- one of your pet being pet by the cursor
For best results, gifs should ideally be 250px square or less

Currently, to submit a pet, you must have a personal website, blog or other online page that can 1) be linked back to and 2) host a copy of the widget. However, more petz equals more fun, so you are welcome to submit up to 3 petz per person!

Gif Capturing Tips

The easiest way to capture gifs from the Petz games is by using the free program ScreenToGif. You can also download this green screen wallpaper pack which makes capturing a transparent gif super easy - just set one of these solid colors to be your playpen wallpaper, then select it as your transparent color when saving your ScreenToGif capture. That covers the basics, but here are some additional tips:

Try to make the gif start and end on the same pose for a clean loop
Similarly, try to have your petting gif be a similar position to your idle gif for a better transition
You can trim down sections where you pet doesn't move to make a better paced loop
Try to make sure the center of the gif is where you your pet spends most of its time. if your pet moves briefly in one direction, feel free to have some dead space in the other direction to keep the pet centered overall
